Summer Camp Programs

Welcome to the ultimate "farm to fork" summer experience!

HealthBarn USA’s fun, hand-on summer camp programs focus on food and nutrition and its relationship to sustainable agriculture, environmental sciences and animal stewardship for children ages 3-15 -- on the most exciting place on the planet -- a farm!  Summer programs include: Camp, ages 5-12 and Summer Seedlings, ages 3-5!  Check it out!
   
SUMMER CAMP, ages 5-12:  Why sign-up for HealthBarn USA summer camp?  the ultimate farm-to-fork experience that is fun, action-packed, educational -- and because kids LOVE HealthBarn USA!  We are all about healthy-lifestyle!  Our campers get in tip-top shape working in the garden, cooking and eating all-natural, nutritious recipes for breakfast, lunch and snack everyday!  The Rachael Ray Show featured HealthBarn USA, click here  to watch the kids and our professional team in action!

Summer Farm Camps Connect Kids with Food and a Whole Lot More," click here to read more.  NEW!  Location -- we will be at the Speyer Farm, North Salem, NY in Westchester, NY summer 2010, too!  This one-of-kind fun and educational experience on a farm from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. which includes:

  • Planting and harvesting local, sustainable produce
  • Cooking healthy recipes and playing nutrition education games
  • Creative arts and crafts and nature activities
  • Sports activities, yoga and hiking 
  • Professional instruction for children (6 hours, 5 days)
  • Nutritious all natural breakfast, snacks and lunches provided (we accommodate for allergies)
  • All supplies and natural, organic food
  • Participation in Suffern Farmers' Market selling their own produce (Bergen County location)

***EARLY BIRD SPECIAL*** Summer camp 2010 enrollment has begun.  Please click here for camp flyer and enrollment information in Bergen County, NJ and Westchester, NY.  Transporation will be available at an additional fee to the barn from New York City to Bergen County location.  Please note that space is limited with only 25 campers per week, so the early bird definitely gets the worm for next summer!  


SUMMER SEEDLINGS, ages 3-5:
"Only after one month at HealthBarn USA, my 3 year old daughter is bringing her gardening tools to the backyard instead of her toys and she is helping me prepare food in the kitchen.  She only liked tomatoes in a sauce, but now she is eating raw cherry tomatoes straight from the vine," a Seedling mom.

The Seedlings have an action-filled summer ahead that includes planting and eating organic fruits and vegetables, helping to cook healthy recipes and doing all natural arts & crafts.  The New York Times featured HealthBarn USA in "No 'Yucks' Allowed." The reporter, Kelly Feeney, learned a lot about growing vegetables and cooking healthy recipes during her afternoon observing the Summer Seedlings class.  She found out that healthy eaters thrive at HealthBarn USA!  Click here to read more.

We are enrolling for the Summer Seedlings program being held weekly in the afternoons from 4-5:30 pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays for 5 or 10-weeks, please click here for enrollment information in Bergen County, NJ and Westchester, NY.
